What is SP Validator?
SP Validator is a computer software product developed and licensed by School Pathways Data Validator, a subsidiary of School Pathways. SP Validator provides K-12 public schools, school districts and county offices software tools necessary to ensure that their student information and human resources data is complete and error free prior to state submissions and throughout the year!

Because SP Validator is 100% web-based, users only need a userid and password to start validation and reporting! Once data is uploaded to our servers, SP Validator takes only minutes to run! Whether you are an individual school, a school district, or a county office, SP Validator greatly reduces the time and "at risk" concerns associated with data integrity. SP Validator utilizes numerous reports for validating and tabulating critical data that will help the user determine both student and staff anomalies, as well as preliminary counts in critical areas that affect state funding.

Time Savings -
The extensive man-hours tracking down and correcting data errors have become overwhelming for many LEA's. SP Validator greatly decreases that time and effort by streamlining the process for the IT professional in charge of data validation or providing a means by which the workload may be distributed to others. SP Validator allows the user to generate validation reports that are clear, concise and logically sorted for clarity. All errors detected for a particular student or staff member are combined to make the correction process more efficient.

Deadlines -
It is a fact of life that deadlines often come too soon and leave little time to make minor or last minute changes before finalizing a state submission or preparing a data collection. SP Validator allows the user to make last minute changes by utilizing a user friendly interface that provides its own lookup feature! For example, the program will alert the user to any suspected error and allow the user to make changes instantly. Such changes will then automatically be incorporated into a set of state formatted extract files that contain critical data for any of your data collection needs. Whenever data is changed that affects the extract files, a "Change Report" is generated noting the value before and after the update. This report can be used as a reference to update the user's student information or HR system at a later time.

How it works -
The user uploads the extract files that conform to state specific standards and that are used to upload to CSIS. SP Validator ensures the extract files are uploaded in the safest, most secure encryption method available. These extract files reside on School Pathways servers located at a secure, world class premium off-site location. The files are then processed through SP Validator to determine any possible data errors. Once this process is complete, the user will be able to view, change and report on data anomalies by central site or by school site. A myriad of reports are generated that provide clear and concise descriptions of suspected errors. This information is sorted in a manner that is both logical and efficient for the user. The entire process can be re-generated as many times as necessary with little delay. For example, once the files are uploaded to the validation web site, the validation itself takes only seconds to run. Upload times depend on the speed of your internet connection and the amount of data being sent. Data can be uploaded for a single school, a set of schools, or the entire district anytime!
